If someone asked me to come up with two words to define the meaning of life, I would say BE PRESENT.
Coming into 2012 and the Year of the Water Dragon has had me pondering the theme of Balance, and I often relate the element of water to that of universal balance. Water forms to everything it encounters, exists in several states and is one of the most basic substances all life requires to endure. It has the power to wreak havoc in the form of giant tsunami waves, and can be as peaceful as gentle rain.
I like to bring the balance and power of that element to the way I choose my attitude. I talked in my last post about finding congruence with our dreams and our actions – choosing your attitude about the things that occur in your life, and the intentions you have toward your goals is a sure way to make them real.
Attitude is everything. Just like water, it seeps through every aspect of life and can make or break us. Struggle is what tests us: situations, people, morals, the internal battles we have with ourselves. In any and all situations that arise, the thing that matters most is how you feel. Bruce Lee councils us to “be water.” Channel the limitless power of water in bringing balance to your attitude.
