Do YOU Have Too Many Coaches?
I ran into a new challenge last week with my business.
In trying to grow, I am always looking for smart people to guide me – a sound strategy.
I ended up hiring two coaches because they were both SUPER smart.
But my smart coaching strategy really backfired because I ended up not knowing WHAT decision to make because my two coaches were giving me opposite advice!!
I think this happens ALL THE TIME….and not just in business!
We want to try the latest and greatest strategy, but we end up getting confused by all the mixed messages.
Thinking I was going to get MORE by having MORE people give me advice was actually the OPPOSITE of helpful for me.
In fact, I think this is directly applicable to FITNESS. There are so many SMART PEOPLE out there to learn from, but sometimes all the voices become unintelligible and you don’t know WHO to listen to.
That’s why I suggest choosing ONE VOICE at a time, trying out the strategies or suggestions you’re getting from that person and giving it a chance to see how it works.
Add in something else once you’ve actually given that advice a chance to work if you feel ready for more.
Otherwise, you’re going to get overwhelmed and confused like I was, or worse, just stop doing ANYTHING!
There is NOT A ONE SIZE FITS ALL APPROACH TO ANYTHING…which is why there is so much conflicting information out there.
Different things work for different people at different times – and while you owe it to yourself to get great coaching, DON’T get overwhelmed by listening to too many people at the same time.
Have you found yourself stuck in analysis paralysis when there were too many smart people telling you what to do?
How did you decide who to listen to, and why?
